A picture of my grandparents hangs on the wall, grinning, kissing, young. They were passionate once, the embodiment of marital bliss. Looking at this black and white frame, this staged second of embodied love, I like to think that they’re still this alive somewhere. I like to think of them in the heat of life, not old and shaky, crumbling into dist. I like to think of them as they were when they burned brilliant and strong, vibrant, not in the earth, painted and cold, wrapped in wooden caskets.
