In 1975

Contributor: Darian G. Burns

- -
They screamed their hatred:
Evil,
Vile,
Anger,
Him to her,
Her to him.

Broken things littered around our lives:
Wailing
in the night;
Muffled in pillows.

Passing car back and forth;
Lights
Shining
Bright
Through my window.

Reflecting much
Piercing
Penetrating
Fear.

They lived their anger;
Screamed
Hatred and
Disdain.

Not meant for me:
Yet -
I was from them.
It stuck;
It always does.
