Sunday Morning

Contributor: Lynn Cooper

- -
Like the still
Autumn day outside
my body is calm
a soft smile defines my lips.
I want to hold
this feeling
longer than
our arms and legs
entwine.
Longer than
your scent stays
on my sheets.
Long enough
to erase years of
Sunday mornings
when I lay alone
feeling like winter
would never leave.
