Fingertip Dreams Between Life & Death

Contributor: James D. Casey IV

- -
How many
dreams
do you think
you'll have?

How many
will you
remember?

Sometimes,
I
stretch my arms
as far apart as
they
can go.

Then
slowly
bring the tips
of my index fingers
together.

I imagine
that expanse as
my life
and
my death.

Meeting together
in the middle,
and
as my fingers
touch
I remember.

I remember,
that dreams
are things
that can be
willed
into fruition.
