What happened to the angel
mouth verses
my childhood sense of believing
a cloud like vision
It was replaced
by the warnings of television
seedy conversations
dot matrix real world living
What happened to the holy
one inside me
with wisdom and kindness
he spoke
All I have is the scooped out
place where peace used to be
waking with the taste
of mortality in my mouth.

Gum wrapper filthy
street raucous cursing
naughty naughty
search term way of life
Uncle with bulb nose
wallowing in smoke with
long toenails old crusty
bread fingers
dabbling at the porno mag
pages splashed around
like strange pink flesh
wallpaper
Kiss the mouth
of the neighbor's wife
but the taste is a sting.

There is a computer
in my pocket; her name
is Cindy
She is now divorced
wants to tell me about
her cats
One's name is Midnight
he's the black one,
which makes sense
She became a computer
because it's a sexist world
They wouldn't let her
be anything else.
