War

The earth drank greedily
the blood of the dead
as the sun started bleeding
into the sky.

War was everywhere –
between the corpses
and the speechless trees,
in the cold silence
broken by the whimpering wind.

The world became
a still-life picture,
where no one moved
and no one won.
