Let it flow through you

Let it flow through you
any time of day.
Let it flow through you,
don't ask it to stay.
Let it flow through you
in the middle of the night.
Let it run its maddened course,
don't put up a fight.

If you think you need to
help it on its way,
don't be fooled so easily,
it just wants to play.
When you see it coming,
step out of its way;
when it sees you leaving,
it won't want to stay.

If you think you've learned to
somehow read its mind,
know that you are always
twenty steps behind.
When you wake up one day
you will clearly see
that its wants and wishes
cannot set you free.

Let it flow through you
any time of day.
Let it flow through you,
don't ask it to stay.
Let it flow through you
and just gently be.
Let it run its possessed course,
and you will be free.
